Brock students will face picket lines as they head to class Monday morning.

The school’s unionized English as a Second Language instructors went on strike at 7am after the university rejected a tentative agreement with the CUPE 4207, unit 3, which represents 38 instructors.

Brock said that while they had tentatively agreed to the settlement that was ratified by union membership, they discovered language against contracting out which they believe was not in the agreement.

Brock has cancelled all ESL classes for Monday.

Meanwhile, protesters are only allowing two cars at a time into the school, resulting in a major traffic tie up in the area.
