Brantford woman arrested after two stolen vehicles crash in separate incidents

Police say a 45-year-old Brantford woman has been arrested after stealing and crashing two separate vehicles.

On Thursday at approximately 6:40 a.m., officers received a call that a vehicle had been stolen in the area of Harris Avenue and West Street.

The stolen vehicle was then involved in a collision nearby and located by authorities without the driver inside.

Shortly after, police received another call about a different vehicle being stolen from the Gilkison Street and Colborne Street area.

This vehicle was then involved in a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue.

Investigators quickly located and arrested the female responsible for the thefts and collisions.

As a result, a 45-year-old Brantford woman stands charged with the following offences:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle (two counts)
  • Dangerous operation (two counts)
  • Fail to stop after accident (three counts)

The area at Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue were closed due to the investigation but has since reopened.
