The father of a missing three-year-old says he is “100 per cent optimistic” he’ll be returned alive.

The Amber Alert for Kienan Hebert has been extended to Alberta as police search for the boy, who disappeared from his Sparwood, B.C. home sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

He was last seen wearing a pair of blue, Scooby Doo boxer shorts.

Police are also looking for a suspect. Randall Hopley, 46, is currently on probation and has been convicted of several crimes, including sexual assault. Police say he may be driving a brown, 1987 Toyota Camry, with B.C. licence plate 098 RAL.

Police say more than 200 people are out searching for Hebert.
