Charges in York officers death

Charges have now been laid against the pickup driver who crashed into a York Regional Police officer, killing him and severely injuring his fiance.

54 year old Mark Grant and his fiance, Debra Neal, collided with the pick up last month near Uxbridge, just north of Toronto.

The 32 year veteran of the York police force was on his way home from a police conference.

His fiance suffered serious injuries, while the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

76 year old George Woodruff of Brechin, Ontario is charged with careless driving and failing to stop for a stop sign.
