Canadian tourist dies in zip lining accident in Thailand: reports

A Canadian tourist has died in Thailand after falling from a popular zip line on Saturday, according to a local media report.

The Bangkok Post says the 25-year-old man fell from the Flight of the Gibbon zipline in Chiang Mai province.

The post says, the investigation found that shortly after he was released from the start of the zip lines the cable disconnected and he plunged about 20 metres into the creek below.

Global Affairs Canada has confirmed that a Canadian citizen has died while in Thailand, but due to privacy reasons will not provide any further information.
