A Canadian has been identified as one of four people killed in a midair crash between two sightseeing planes in Alaska.

Global Affairs Canada says the name and hometown of the victim is not being released due to privacy reasons.

The United States Coast Guard says four cruise ship tourists died when two floatplanes collided near the southeast Alaska town of Ketchikan.

The ship left from Vancouver on Saturday.

Members of the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to arrive in Ketchikan Tuesday afternoon.
