The federal government is promising to spend $100-billion-dollars to rebuild the economy after the pandemic, as Canada’s deficit hits a new record high, closing in on $400-billion-dollars. Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland presented the government’s much-anticipated fall fiscal update today, promising to do whatever it takes to keep Canadians and their businesses safe and solvent.
