Canada-wide manhunt continues for B.C murder suspects

First Published:

A nationwide manhunt continues for two teenagers who are suspected of killing three people in northern B.C.

The RCMP says 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod are wanted in connection with the murders of three people.

The teens are accused of killing Australian Lucas Fowler and his American girlfriend Chynna Deese. The couple was found along the side of a highway on July 15.

Four days later, the body of a Vancouver man was found in Manitoba near the teens’ burned-out truck several hundred kilometres from the first crime scene.

The RCMP has set up a checkstop at an intersection on the only road leading into the remote northern Manitoba town of Gillam where the teens were last seen.

Schmegelsky’s father says he believes his son is on a suicide mission, and will likely be killed in a confrontation with police within days.
