Canada is leaving the World Cup in Qatar after losing 2-1 to Morocco in its final knockout stage game in 36 years.
While Canada’s players trailed for much of their final match, Canadian supporters are filled with pride that their team made the tournament for the first time since 1986.
In the final game, Canada was playing only to bring home one win from the World Cup after the team lost to Croatia on Sunday and was knocked out from the group stages.

Hakim Ziyech scored for Morocco in the opening minutes of the match after a mistake made by the Canadian goalkeeper – Milan Borjan left the winger to strike the ball into an empty net. Youssef En-Nesyri scored the second goal for Morocco in the 23rd minute.
A Moroccan defender scored an own-goal just before the halftime whistle, which made it 2-1 and lifted Canada for them to pressure Morocco in the second half in search of an equalizing goal.
The next opportunity for Team Canada to play in the World Cup will come in four years since Canada is co-hosting the next FIFA tournament in 2026 with the United States and Mexico.
