There was excitement on the streets of Burlington Wednesday morning, as police chased suspects of a home invasion. Reporter Adam Atkinson spoke with a woman who witnessed the entire chase and even shot footage of the take down.

Halton police were in pursuit of three people involved in an earlier home invasion on Desmond drive in Burlington.
“The home owner was at home at the time, two males and a female, they were interrupted by the home owner.” Sgt. Barry Malciw, Halton police.

An officer spotted the getaway car a few minutes later, followed it onto Guelph line and tried to pull the thieves over. Halton police say it wasn’t a high speed chase, it lasted less than a km and ended when both vehicles crashed. The police SUV hit a pole and the suspects car hit a condo building but the drama didn’t end there. A woman ran from the car into traffic and was caught by police.

“At that time the female was apprehended by police, the two male suspects are still outstanding. We’re continuing to investigate.”

The K9 unit was called in to track down the men, but the dogs weren’t able to find them.
