Burlington house fire deemed suspicious, OFM investigates

The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate after a home in Burlington was set on fire.

Emergency crews responded to alarm conditions at a home on Maple Ave. around 9 p.m. Monday.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the building.

Burlington Fire says 26 firefighters were on scene for roughly two hours.

The blaze started in a bedroom and officials believe it was deliberately set.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire and sustained about $250,000 in damages.

The were no reported injuries.
