Brantford Police investigating fatal fire

Brantford police continue to investigate a house fire that took the life of a woman yesterday.

The fire broke out around 11:15 a.m. at a residence on White Owl Crescent. The Brantford Fire Department located and extricated the woman who succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

Neighbours tell CHCH News that the woman was in her late 40’s or early 50’s. They say she lived alone.

The Ontario Fire Marshall was called to the scene and remained there today while investigating. Reports are that the fire was located in the upstairs bedroom of the semi-detached home.

Police cannot confirm if the cause of the fire is suspicious at this time.
