Brantford police say they have called off search efforts for a missing fisherman but the investigation remains open.
Rescue teams had been searching the waters of the Grand River near Erie Ave. after they received a call from witnesses who say they saw a man become submerged in the water on Sunday.
They described the man as white, approximately 50 years of age, with grey hair and was wearing a toque and “Lumber” style jacket.
Investigators say they have not received a missing persons report involving a male with the same description.
On Tuesday, the Brantford Police Service, Brant County OPP, OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit along with an OPP Helicopter called off their search efforts.
They say the investigation will be re-evaluated on an ongoing basis.
