The victim of a Brampton hit-and-run is pleading with the driver to come forward. That in itself isn’t unusual, but Navindra Sookramsingh appeared at a police news conference while lying in a hospital bed and wearing a neck brace. He says he chose to speak publicly, so he could ask the driver to have mercy by coming forward to police.
Police say he was walking home on West Drive south of Clark Boulevard at around 4:30 AM on March 17th after leaving a party, when he fell down onto the roadway. He was trying to stand up, when he was hit by a car and thrown more than 20 metres. In addition to his physical injuries, he says he suffers from insomnia and depression.
Police are looking for the driver of a beige 2003-2007 Toyota Corolla that has minor damage to the front right bumper.
A Go-Fund-Me page to help Navindra with medical bills has been set up.
