The 2 men accused of killing Tim Bosma appeared in court today. Dellen Millard and Mark Smich appeared in person in a Hamilton courtroom, many of their previous appearances have been by video. Millard looked much different today from these pictures, his hair was long almost to his shoulders and greasy. He was wearing a plaid dress shirt and grey suit jacket and he looked around the courtroom to see who was there.

The two men have been charged with first degree murder in Bosma’s death. Bosma disappeared after going on a test drive in his truck on May 6th 2013. His burned remains were found a week later on Millard’s farm near Waterloo.

Bosma’s father Hank was in court today as well but the media along with anyone else who was there were asked to leave so they could discuss matters that were “controversial” and could not be published. This is not a publication ban which would have been normal for pre trial motions. We are still not sure why we were asked to leave.

The trial date for Millard and Smich has been set for September 28th.
