Halton police recovered the body of a swimmer that disappeared in the waters off of Burlington beach over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Channel Pier and Lakeshore Court for a water rescue on Saturday for reports that a man did not resurface after going into waters of Lake Ontario.

Officers say that the rescue tragically became a recovery and his body was pulled from the water that afternoon.
