A new study is raising hope for tackling baldness.
Japanese scientists say they’ve succeeded in growing hair on bald mice.
They took two types of skin stem cells, which contain all the instructions for hair, and grew them in the lab until they formed follicles.
These were then implanted on the backs of hairless mice; and within two to three weeks, they sprouted hairs.
The team hopes to test the technique on men in as little as three years, and the treatment could be in widespread use within a decade.
