Banning plastic straws

Britain plans to ban the sale of plastic straws and it’s pressing other commonwealth countries like Canada to join in.

Several Canadian cities are already encouraging bars and restaraunts to go straw free and other businesses are taking their own initiatives to eliminate waste.

And it’s not just plastic straws. Other single use plastic products like stir sticks and cotton swabs are being considered too.

Brit Dixon took a look at the Nook Café in Hamilton to see what they are doing to be waste free.
