At least 33 arrests related to McKenzie Meadows land dispute

First Published:

There have been at least 33 arrests now related to the land dispute on McKenzie Meadows, a housing development in Caledonia.

Six Nations have less than 5% of its original land base and protestors say there are dozens of outstanding claims over lost lands.

The wife of “Land Back Lane” spokesperson Skyler Williams, was arrested on Wednesday as the OPP continues to enforce a pair of court injunctions.

Hamilton musician and Juno award-winning artist Tom Wilson was also charged this week.

He says quote: “I have always stood and continue to stand in solidarity with the Haudenosaunee land keepers of Six Nations and my fellow indigenous sisters and brothers and indigenous sovereignty … I look forward to fighting these charges in court.”
