As 1005 meets, an ultimatum from U.S. Steel

As Ontario political leaders come up with their plans to try and create more jobs, a group of steel workers are still fighting to keep theirs, along with benefits and pensions.


Members of United Steelworkers Union Local 1005 have been locked out for nearly a year. Tonight they’re holding a meeting not to discuss U.S. Steel’s latest offer – but threats by the company that the Hamilton Works “won’t be protected or subsidized.”

Adam Atkinson spoke to an industry expert about the state of U.S. Steel.
