Anonymous tip results in arrest of an armed man in Hamilton

Hamilton police would like to thank an anonymous caller who contacted police about a male with a weapon inside a store.

Shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday, Hamilton police responded to the area of Barton St. E and Chapple St. where they located a male matching the description leaving the store.

He was detained by police and was found to be in possession of a weapon police described as a device capable of delivering an electronic current in the form of plastic knuckle guards, as well as methamphetamine.

The 42-year-old Hamilton man was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance and fail to comply to probation.
