Andrea Horwath has delivered her resignation as Hamilton centre Member of Provincial Parliament as she runs for Mayor of Hamilton.
Effective Monday, Horwath is no longer the MPP for the downtown riding.
A provincial by-election will be called in the next six months, while the municipal election comes October 24.
This Friday is the last day for municipal candidates to register.
