Alleged weed delivery man arrested by Hamilton police

First Published:

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after police found cash and several paper bags of weed inside a car during a traffic stop.

Officers pulled over a suspected suspended driver in white Jeep in the area of Roxborough Ave. and Barons Ave. North. Wednesday night.

Police say they detected a “strong odour” of weed and spotted a clear container of cannabis on the passenger seat.

They say several paper bags containing various amounts of cannabis with the details of buyers attached were found in the Jeep. The GPS also showed the vehicle travelling to an address in the area, police said.

The driver was taken into custody and police seized 247 grams of cannabis, two cell phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 43-year-old Hamilton is charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000, and drive while under suspension.

He has been released from custody and will appear in court in September.
