All Waterloo airport flights cancelled Friday after plane exits runway

First Published:

All flights have been cancelled at Waterloo International Airport Friday morning after a plane overran the runway, according to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).

A Flair Airlines plane carrying 134 passengers and six crew members went off the tracks shortly before 6:30 a.m.

No one was injured after the Boeing 737 exited the runway, which departed from Vancouver International Airport.

Passengers deplaned the aircraft and took a bus to the terminal.

“The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” a Flair Airlines spokesperson said in a statement.

The cause of the incident remains unclear at this time. TSB says the runway is closed as it investigates.
