The rapid growth of Grimsby is reflected in the town’s need for additional social services and a project is now underway that will help fill that need. Thanks to a donor, an old church at Elm and Christie has become a wellness hub and houses the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. The Fund oversees programs for residents of all ages. The new facility offersr private counselling, education programs, a teaching kitchen for nutritious meals and exercise programs. Recipients don’t have to be members of the Benevolent Fund, they just have to apply. The Fund will then decide who is most in need. Also, this new facility will be used to assemble the 300 Christmas baskets that are handed out to those in need each year.
CHCH-TV started broadcasting in 1954 and is proud to be the news leader for Hamilton and the surrounding Halton and Niagara regions.
