Adam judges ribs at fest

First Published:

Hundreds came out for the second annual Oh Canada! Ribfest at Waterdown’s Memorial Park.

This family-friendly event had a little something for everyone: music, drinks, dancing and, of course, ribs.
CHCH’s own Adam Atkinson was there to judge who was serving up the best barbecue of the weekend.

Jamie Huff of Boss Hog’s BBQ told CHCH News they were hoping to take home the trophy again this year.

“We are the previous winners here in Waterdown, People’s Choice Best Rib Champion. We also judged first place in sauce last year, and so we’re back here to retain our title.”
It was not to be though: Camp 31 took the prizes for Best Ribs and Best Sauce.
Also at the event: 625 people gathered to set a world record for the most people singing live on the radio.

Participants warmed up their voices and belted out Randy Bachman’s “Taking Care of Business”, accompanied by the Killin’ Time Band. The performance aired on Hamilton’s Y108.
The previous record was 622 people.
