6-ft long boa constrictor on the loose in Hamilton

First Published:

A large pet snake is loose in east Hamilton and it could be anywhere.

Medusa, the 6 ft long boa constrictor escaped from a yard last week and its owners are desperately trying to find it before the cold weather kills it.

“She was outside suntanning with my brother in the backyard, he was watching her, turned his back to talk to a friend for a minute… she took off for the back corner of our yard.” Ashleigh Denman, owner.

Ashleigh lives on Osborne street in east Hamilton, only blocks from the Red Hill Creek, a possible destination for Medusa.

While the boa constrictor may look menacing, Jeff Reynolds from the Reptile Store says it’s not a threat to public safety.

If you see Medusa, don’t try and grab her yourself, call animal control (905) 574-3433.
