Police share photos of 5th suspect wanted in St. Catharines assault

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the final suspect wanted in connection with an assault in St. Catharines that left a man with life-threatening injuries last month.

Niagara police say an altercation broke out at an establishment in the area of St. Paul and James streets shortly after midnight on March 24.

Five unknown men allegedly assaulted a man. He was then taken to an out-of-region hospital with life-threatening injuries.

An investigation uncovered the identity of four of the five suspects. Two of the men have since been arrested, and two more remain outstanding.

The name of the fifth man remains unknown, but police have attained surveillance image of him and are now sharing it with the public in an effort to track him down.

He is described as having a grey and brown beard and a heavy build. He was wearing black jeans, red and black running shoes, a black hooded sweatshirt with a black T-shirt on top and a black baseball cap.

As of Thursday, two of the assailants have been identified and arrested.

Taylor Cronkwright, 31, was charged with aggravated assault and three counts of failing to comply with a release order on April 11.

Cronkwright was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Jacob Davis, 30, was arrested and charged with aggrevated assault and assault with a weapon on April 18.

Davis was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Niagara police say two other suspects last week who remain outstanding.

Thirty-two-year-old Ricardo Tabora of Toronto is described as a Latino man who is five-foot-eight and 141 lbs with a medium build, brown eyes, black hair and a beard.

Brooklyn Mayer, 29, of St. Catharines is five-foot-nine and 185 lbs with a medium build, brown hair and hazel eyes.
