16-year-old boy arrested in stabbing of teen in St. Catharines

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in St. Catharines.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was stabbed during a fight with several other youths near Manchester Ave. and Haig St. early Sunday evening.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault and uttering threats to cause death.

The teen is expected to appear in court later Thursday. His identity cannot be released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police believe it was a targeted attack.
