Second test of Canada’s emergency alert system

First Published:

Don’t be surprised if your smartphone, television or radio sounds off Wednesday afternoon.

Canada’s emergency alert system will be tested at 1:55 p.m.

This is the second test of the emergency alert system. The first one, which happened in May, didn’t go as planned.

Many wireless subscribers in Ontario didn’t receive an alert, while only 60 per cent in Manitoba did.

A coding error meant it didn’t sound at all in Quebec.
