Cocktails to enjoy and impress for Victoria day

The Victoria Day long weekend is here and we are raising a glass to the unofficial start of summer. Wine and spirits consultant Renée Sferrazza joined us with some exciting mixed drinks to match the spirit of the holiday.

Crown Royal Whiskey Smash

Ingredients:

  • 3 lemon wedges
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • 4 mint leaves
  • Garnish: Mint sprig

Glassware: Rocks Glass

Steps:

  1. Muddle the lemon wedges in a shaker.
  2. Add bourbon, simple syrup, mint leaves, and ice, then shake until well-chilled.
  3. Double-strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a mint sprig.

 

Captain Morgan Daiquiri

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces light rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3/4 ounce demerara sugar syrup
  • Garnish: Lime twist

Glassware: Coupe or Nick and Nora

Steps:

  1.  Add the rum, lime juice, and demerara sugar syrup to a shaker with ice, then shake
  2. until well-chilled.
  3. Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe.
  4. Garnish with a lime twist.

 

Smirnoff Caesar Martini

A twist on the amazing cocktail by Kaitlyn Stewart.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Mott’s Clamato Pickled Bean
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce olive brine
  • Savoury spiced rim
  • Garnish: 3 olives

Glassware: Martini Glass

Steps:

  1. Add Mott’s Clamato Pickled Bean, vodka, dry vermouth, and olive brine to a mixing
  2. 3. glass.

Add ice and stir for 30 rotations.

Strain into a chilled, half-rimmed martini glass and garnish with three olives.
