7 people arrested after police seize guns and ammunition in St. Catharines

Niagara police have arrested seven people in connection with a firearms investigation in St. Catharines.

Earlier this month, police launched a weapons-related investigation in the area of Louth St. and Nash St.

Early Tuesday morning, police executed a search warrant at an address in the area and seized the following:

  • Black 6 shooter Colt DA.88 revolver firearm loaded with 6 live rounds
  • 6 live rounds in a speed loader fitted for a 38 revolver
  • A modified (sawed off) 22. Caliber single shot rifle. The rifle was loaded with 1 live 22. Caliber round.
  • 20 live 22. Caliber ammunition rounds
  • 11 live 22. Caliber ammunition rounds
  • A Hatson Arms pump-action shotgun with 6 live rounds
  • 8 live 12 gauge shotgun

Officers arrested four men and three women including three St. Catharines residents and four people with no fixed address.

The accused range in ages from 21 to 40.

The investigation remains ongoing by members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit.
