First Published:

Peel Regional Police is appealing for witnesses after a driver was held at gunpoint during a large scale truck heist in Brampton.

It happened around 7:50 p.m. on March 13 in the area of Steeles Ave. East and Goreway Dr.

Police say a delivery truck was leaving the warehouse when armed suspects forced their way into the cab of the truck and pulled a gun on the 33-year-old driver.

The driver and the truck were taken to an industrial area at Clark Blvd. and Summerlea Rd. where about $6.9 million in cell phones were transferred into another truck.

The suspects fled the area with the stolen goods and the driver contacted police. He was not injured during the incident.

Investigators are releasing surveillance images of two suspect vehicles involved in the robbery. The first vehicle is a grey or silver, four-door, Acura 3.2TL. The second is a dark, four-door, Lexus IS 250 or IS 350, and believed to be a 2009-2010.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to contact Peel police.
