The Ontario government has confirmed eight new cases of the Coronavirus today, five of which are in Hamilton.
That brings the total number of confirmed cases in Hamilton to 15 and 180 in Ontario.

In response to the outbreak, Premiere Ford declared a state of emergency in the province, which closed down all recreation programs, libraries, private schools, daycares, churches, along with bars and restaurants.
Anyone who suspects they might be ill is being urged to self-isolate pending test results.
The public health agency of Canada says anyone who has traveled outside the country should monitor themselves for 14 days, and if they develop symptoms, self-isolate and call their local public health authority. Those who have traveled to COVID-19 hot-spots should also self-isolate for 14 days upon their return home.
