4 ways to make your baby’s first Christmas memorable

First Published:

The holiday season with a new baby is a very exciting time. But it can also be stressful for new parents who want to make the season memorable.

Whether you’ve got a new bundle of joy or you’re making up for a missed Christmas last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lifestyle expert Nneka Elliott recommended four ways to make the special milestone more festive than ever.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

The first tip Elliot shared was to decorate your Christmas tree with child-friendly ornaments.

“I used ornaments [made of] wood, felt and plastic so you know if they’re going to be interacting with the tree, it’s safe for them,” Elliott said.

She also recommended growing your own tree with this eco-friendly planter already filled with seed and fertilizer.

Buy a Special Gift

Your baby won’t remember what you bought them for Christmas, but that doesn’t mean they won’t enjoy playing with the present.

“I love the Mizzie The Kangaroo line [for] natural teething and educational toys,” Elliot said. “It’s an award-winning Australian brand created by a Canadian mompreneur.”

She said this brand produces toys made from 100 per cent natural rubber.

Matching Holiday Pyjamas

Make Christmas morning extra-festive by having your entire family wear matching pyjamas.

Elliot said Nest Designs’ Christmas Capsule Collection is a great option because they’re super soft and made with environmentally-friendly materials such as bamboo fibre and 100 per cent organic cotton.
