Andryanna Gonko, host of ‘The Juggle is Real’ podcast joined us this morning with the 3 C’s she recommends to help keep your marriage strong.
Communicate: Often conversations with your spouse can cover discussing day-to-day tasks, what to have for dinner, and what activities the kids have going on. But, it’s important to make time to get past the day-to-day and share your other thoughts with your spouse. Hopes for the following week, plan the next vacation, talk about how you’ll spend your retirement, anything to get the communication flowing.
Connect: With devices and TV it’s easy to sit with your partner and just zone out. Put the devices aside and actually do something to connect with your partner. Play a board game, do a puzzle, anything to share some quality time.
Celebrate: make time to celebrate the small things, not just the big occasions. Every night before bed try telling your partner 3 things you really appreciated during the day. Whether it’s help making dinner, or taking the kids out for some fun, make sure you don’t forget the little things.
