Six people have been taken to hospital, including two adults with life-threatening injuries, following a violent crash in Brant.

Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Norfolk County paramedic services were called to a two-vehicle crash on Brantford Rd. near Burford Delhi Townline Rd. around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say a minivan was travelling northbound on Brantford Rd. when it collided with another minivan travelling westbound.

OPP Cst. Ed Sanchuk says the intersection is controlled by stop signs which likely played a role in the crash.

Six people were sent to hospital including a one-year-old boy, a three-year-old boy, and a four-year-old girl. Sanchuk says the children and their 29-year-old father did not suffer serious injuries but were taken to hospital as a precaution.

A 26-year-old woman and 26-year-old man who were in the other minivan suffered life-threatening and life-altering injuries. Sanchuk says the man is currently in hospital fighting for his life.

Brantford Rd. has been closed while police investigate the cause of the crash.
