19-year-old dead after single vehicle collision in Fort Erie

Niagara police say a man is dead after his vehicle collided with a fire hydrant.

On May 1, at around 10:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a single vehicle collision on Bertie Street between Concession Road and Douglas Street in Fort Erie.

Police say a black 4-door Infiniti collided with a fire hydrant. The 19-year-old driver from Fort Erie was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver is not being released.

Detectives are asking for assistance from residents who may have been in the area at the time of the collision. Residents with CCTV footage that captures Bertie Street, Concession Road, or Douglas Street and motorists who were in the area with a dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage and contact police at 905-688-4111.
