The Lincoln County Humane Society is looking for new forever homes for 17 dogs that were saved from the Korean meat trade.
The dogs were rescued form farms in Korea that supplied dogs to the meat trade.
The agency says reality television star and music producer Simon Cowell paid for the dogs to make the trip to St. Catharines in early October. The animals went through a quarantine and relaxation period but are now available for adoption.
“We are proud to be part of the partnership with Humane Society International and Simon Cowell and we are pleased to help these dogs that certainly deserve loving homes” said Kevin Strooband, Executive Director. “They are sweet dogs that are just waiting for someone to help them learn how to be a dog and enjoy life.”
Anyone who is interested in adopting the animals can head to the shelter during adoption hours. For more information on how you can adopt an animal from The Lincoln County Humane Society, click here.
“These dogs will take love and training to be a house pet, but they all have great potential and once socialized they will make terrific companions,” said Cortnie Welychka, Senior Animal Care Technician, LCHS.
