16-year-old boy dies in hospital following ATV rollover in NOTL

Niagara police say a 16-year-old boy has died in hospital after an ATV rollover in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The crash happened in the area of Garrison Village Dr. and Village Rd. around 12:35 a.m. on March 13.

Officers arrived on scene and found the teen pinned under an ATV in critical condition.

The teen was wearing a helmet but suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.

On Thursday, Niagara police said the boy had died as a result of his injuries.

The teen’s identity is not being released out of respect for the family.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident and are asking any witnesses to contact police at 905-688-4111, ext. 1009265.
