15-year-old charged after attack with noxious substance in Simcoe

Ontario Provincial Police say a 15-year-old youth from Norfolk County is facing several charges after allegedly attacking a victim with a noxious substance and stealing all their money.

Police say the victim intended to purchase several items from the youth and the pair met on Friday at an address on Norfolk St. South in Simcoe.

The 15-year-old allegedly sprayed the victim with something harmful and stole all their money before fleeing in a vehicle.

On Monday, police arrested the youth and charged them with three separate offences: robbery with violence, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, administer noxious thing with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm and fail to comply with undertaking

The identity of the 15-year-old can not be released as a result of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police say they continue to investigate this robbery and antipicate further arrests.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on March 20, 2023.
