The libel suit filed by premier Kathleen Wynne against opposition leader Tim Hudak seeks two million dollars in damages.

The lawsuit stems from Hudak’s comments late last month suggesting that Wynne may have ordered the wiping out of computer hard drives in the premier’s office.

The Ontario Progressive Conservatives are still pushing for answers from the premier. In question period today, PC leader Tim Hudak addressed the threat of a lawsuit by Wynne.

“I only wish, premier, that you had put as much energy as you are into suing the opposition to actually get answers for the tax payers,” said Hudak.

A libel notice was given to the Conservatives, but does not mean a lawsuit has been launched.

The premier wants Hudak to withdraw his accusation that she played a role in the destruction of the government documents around cancelled gas plants.
