Woman, 21, charged with impaired driving in Cayuga crash

First Published:

A 21-year-old woman is facing drunk driving charges after a single-vehicle crash on Monday.

A witness told police a vehicle with two passengers had crashed into the ditch on Highway 54 in Cayuga around 5:43 p.m.

Police say the vehicle was travelling southbound when it crossed both lanes and went into the ditch.

Paramedics treated a female passenger at the scene and the driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening.

Police say they detected signs of “impairment by alcohol” when they spoke with the driver and she was subsequently arrested.

Lucia Crisante is facing impaired driving charges and had her license automatically suspended for 90 days and her vehicle seized for seven days.

She is set to appear in a Cayuga courtroom at a later date.
