Sicario scribe Taylor Sheridan makes his feature film directorial debut with Wind River. Set against the isolated winter landscape of rural Wyoming, Sheridan continues his exploration of America’s untamed frontier lands.
WIND RIVER is a chilling thriller that follows a rookie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen) who teams up with a local game tracker with deep community ties and a haunted past (Jeremy Renner) to investigate the murder of a local girl on a remote Native American Reservation in the hopes of solving the her mysterious death.
The film premiered at Sundance 2017 where it won critical praise. According to Sheridan, “Wind River explores perhaps the most tangible remnant of America’s frontier, and America’s greatest failure — the Native American reservation. At its most personal, it is the study of how a man moves on from a tragedy without ever gaining closure. At its broadest, it is a study of the consequence of forcing people to live on land where people were never meant to live.”
Wind River is rated 18A.
