The atmosphere in Ferguson, Missouri remains tense this evening after another night of chaos.

Police are blaming a small minority of agitators for causing peaceful demonstrations to escalate into violence in the St. Louis suburb.

Local community leaders are pleading for citizens to stay home Tuesday night but more demonstrations are expected to begin at dusk.

There is a lot of uncertainty as protestors demand answers in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Peaceful protests quickly turned violent Monday night with two civilians shot and four officers injured. Dozens were arrested.

Facing molotov cocktails and rocks the National Guard and local law enforcement deployed tear gas and stun grenades.

As clashes continue, Michael brown’s mother is calling for justice for her son.

“We have to remain focused and we have to remain strong and the violence needs to stop.”

Tuesday afternoon, a police involved shooting in neighboring St. Louis further heightened tensions.

A 23-year-old African American man brandishing a knife was shot dead by officers after he approached them saying “Kill me now.”

The suspect had allegedly stolen from a local store. Eyewitnesses say he was walking erratically when police arrived.

A grand jury is set to begin hearing testimony about whether to indict the officer who killed Michael Brown.

Attorney General Eric Holder will arrive in Ferguson Wednesday to meet with law enforcement investigating his death.
