First Published:

Halton police are looking for a man they believe set a vehicle on fire in Burlington.

Investigators say a man carrying a gas canister walked up to a parked vehicle in a driveway on Bluegrass Lane around 11:45 p.m. Monday.

The man set the vehicle ablaze and ran away with the gas canister in hand.

Police believe the man got into a white coloured full size pickup truck before fleeing the area.

The Burlington Fire Department managed to put out the fire but the vehicle was completely destroyed.

The home was not damaged in the fire and the residents were able to safely leave their property.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years old with a lean build.

Police are asking homeowners in the area of Bluegrass Lane near the intersection of Pathfinder Dr. and Dryden Ave. to review any external home security video or dashcam video that may have been recording Monday evening around 11:45 p.m.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Constable Scott Feddema at 905-825-4747, ext. 2372 or 2315.
