The Niagara Regional Police Service is investigating after two women were attacked in Niagara on the Lake, within 30 minutes of each other.
Police responded to the Niagara on the Green Boulevard and Glendale Avenue area around 8 p.m. Wednesday night after receiving reports of an attempted robbery.
A woman was walking when a man came from behind and tried to physically control her.
The suspect demanded money from the victim who managed to break free and escape unharmed.
The second incident happened around 8:30 p.m. near the same area. A woman was walking alone when she was approached by a man who grabbed her.
The woman began screaming and the suspect fled the area.
The suspect from the first incident is described as male, white, in his early 20’s, wearing a black leather jacket and a burgundy toque.
The suspect from the second incident is described as being male, 6′, and was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and grey gloves.
Police do not know if the same suspect is involved in both incidents and are asking anyone with information to call (905) 688-4111 ext. 2200.
Police are reminding residents to remain aware of your surroundings when walking and consider having a cell phone readily available.
