Two injured in Niagara Falls motel fire

First Published:

Two people have been taken to hospital with injuries following an early morning fire at a motel in Niagara Falls.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a structure fire at the Advantage Inn around 6 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters found a motel room fully engulfed in flames with the fire spreading to two neighbouring rooms.

It took crews about one hour to knock down the blaze.

All occupants were able to get out on their own but two people were taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Niagara Regional Police, Niagara Peninsula Energy, and Enbridge Gas all attended the fire to provide assistance.

Niagara Falls fire investigators remain on scene and will be working with the Office of the Fire Marshal to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

There is no damage estimate at this time.
