A man in his twenties is in hospital after a stabbing in west Hamilton.

It happened as a house party was wrapping up on Whitney Avenue just after 3 a.m. Friday.

Police say they received reports of a group of men fighting, and say when they arrived, they found a man with an injury to the back of his head, from what he described as a hockey stick.

They later found another victim suffering from stab wounds nearby.

Police say a group of around 20 men are responsible for the attack, and say the group didn’t know the victims.

Both men were taken to hospital and are expected to recover.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
