Another serious crash closed a deadly stretch of Highway 6 between Upper James and Chippewa Road south of Mount Hope last night.

One person was reportedly trapped after two cars collided around 9:30 pm.

Numerous emergency vehicles responded but the highway was reopened at 11:30 pm.

There have been at least 5 people killed on that same stretch of highway over the past 5 years. Just two weeks ago, local residents were calling for improvements to reduce the number of crashes in the area.

Highway 6 is about to be repaved but overnight workers were removing old pavement on another stretch of the highway at the time.
